I used the free Blender software to create and render this room (including the fire). All is procedurally generated (i.e. computer generated textures and materials) except for the nebula on the TV. There is some degradation from the GIF conversion process, but one can still get a good idea of the fire physics engine. If you wanted to make a fly-through movie for your client, the fire graphics quality would be much higher (because it wouldn’t be a GIF). I used around half of Andrew Price’s outdoor fire tutorial to create this fire.
