Well I recommend this enjoyable layman compilation of Tarkovsky’s cinematic poetics, if anything but to wash yourself with a series of beautiful, eery moments.
But also, if unfamiliar with the artsy fartsy, this is as good a primer as any. A lot of this stuff applies to poetry and other arts directly, though much of Tarkovsky is idiosyncratic to film. It’s pretty inspiring.
