Learned Helplessness

Exploring the psychology of Learned Helplessness – something which we all have suffered from at some point in their lives.

“Maybe a question we should ask is: does our school system promote learned helplessness? do we force kids to suffer punishment that they really can’t change, and then we expose them to a world and say.. “now you go out and do what you want to do”. I think to a certain degree we are doing that. School is for a lot of kids just a weird and unusual kind of punishment, I guess its no wonder that they learn theres things beyond their control, because school is about taking control away from kids.”
