The Salty Saint

As the old Salt looked into the blackened night,

The heavens brilliant diamonds were strewn across the immortal skies,

Almost as though dropped by a dancing child,

As the myths of the ancient gods did love and battle for the souls and minds of mere mortal man and womankind.

Yet so few knew, as their vanities and fates were drawn and quartered, like blood spilled into the mornings burnt crimson skies, as the Shipmaster’s thirteen steps, across the wooden deck, bode of a divine guidance, to …….. The Boatman’s Call,

Souls and Silver coins, to ferry the Reapers deeds,

Fate by God or Satan’s spell? Coffins driven nail?

An to ports of heaven and hell,

Through Moonless nights and the midnight of their mortal souls and minds.
