If there is a heaven, my mother didn’t go there, although that really would have been hell for her. She was the truest atheist and hedonistic nihilist I’ve ever known in this life besides myself.

You never really get over the loss of a parent. My mother died December 25th, 1991, and it might as well have been yesterday.
